Applications Engineer/Scientist

Job Functions:

  • Verify and certify our optical and electrical test and measurement instrument products such as Spectroradiometers, Goniophotometers, Illuminance Meters, Photometers, Digital Power Meters, Power Supplies, EMC Generators, and EMC testers, etc..
  • Establishes optical and electrical measurement methods, following standards, and traceability.
  • Responsible for field applications and customer product development or enhancement.
  • Provides sales and marketing support for the company’s growth initiative. 
  • Provides technical expertise on product to close on final sale.
  • Develops and maintains comprehensive knowledge of competitive products and their activity in the marketplace and provides reports on a regularly scheduled basis. 
  • Designs metric solutions for customers with helps of other departments.
  • Write product application notes and papers for academic and technical publications as well as trade magazines . Be capable of presenting the company’s research achievements in prestigious domestic and international academic and industrial standard conferences.
  • Work with sales and marketing team to present and promote our products and services on trade shows
  • Required Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. Degree in Optics, EE or ME.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in optical or electrical metrology, instrument designing, manufacturing or, calibration services with NIST traceability.
  • Profound knowledge in light measurement instrument, NIST traceability, national and international lighting measurement standards, optical measurement and electrical testing equipment, power supply and pulse generator.
  • Thorough understanding of traceability, accuracy, precision, systematic bias, and the evaluation of measurement uncertainty.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Sales Engineers

    Job Functions:

  • Promote and sell company products such as Spectroradiometers, Goniophotometers, Illuminance Meters, Photometers, Digital Power Meters, Power Supplies, EMC Generators, and EMC testers, etc..
  • Confer with customers to assess equipment needs and to determine system requirements.
  • Develop, present, or respond to proposals for specific customer requirements, including request for proposal responses and application solutions.
  • Provide technical expertise on products to close on final sale.
  • Lead the activities of trade shows to present and promote our products and services.
  • Work with technical and quality department to update or modify product configurations to meet customer needs. 
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations that explain products or services to customers or prospective customers.
  • Arrange for demonstrations or trial installations of equipment.
  • Create sales or service contracts for products or services.
  • Research and identify potential customers for products or services.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Optics, EE or ME; MBA is a plus.
  • At least 3 years’ experience and track record in selling optical or electrical instruments and calibration services with NIST traceability.
  • Solid knowledge of methods showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration etc..
  • Excellent knowledge of and experience in customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Profound knowledge in NIST traceability, national and international lighting measurement standards, optical and electrical testing equipment, power supply and pulse generators.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, good interpersonal and team-oriented skills. 
  • Product Operation Managers

    Job Functions:

  • Report to COO of the company.
  • Responsible for directing, implementing, and maintaining processes of assembling, certifying and calibrating at least one of our following optical and electrical test and measurement instrument product lines: Spectroradiometers, Goniophotometers, Illuminance Meters, Photometers, Digital Power Meters, Power Supplies, EMC Generators, and EMC testers, etc..
  • Establish partner relationship with domestic and overseas supply chain to improve fill rates and reduce supply risk. 
  • Ensure effective material controls and efficient usage of resources, set priorities and support customers' requirements in a cost effective manner.
  • Help create vision, strategy and goals for achieving operational excellence.
  • Help direct and manage all aspects of manufacturing to achieve goals related to on-time delivery, quality and cost objectives.
  • Help forecast department operating and capital expenditures.
  • Provide management with periodic reports summarizing manufacturing cost and performance efficiencies.
  • Evaluate performance and assist in career development planning for staff.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or other related field. 
  • More than 5 years of progressively responsible manufacturing management experience.
  • Profound knowledge of and experience with assembling, verifying, calibrating instruments.
  • Having basic knowledge of budgets, capital projects, product cost, and margin analysis.
  • Thorough working experience and knowledge of ERP system.
  • Ability to develop new manufacturing process, techniques and flows, provides proper and thorough training and achieves successful implementation. 
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop employees.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, good interpersonal and team-oriented skills.
  • Test and Calibration Engineers

    Job Functions:

  • Report to Senior Quality Manager of the company.
  • Responsible for certifying and calibrating optical and electrical test and measurement instrument product such as Spectroradiometers, Goniophotometers, Illuminance Meters, Photometers, Digital Power Meters, Power Supplies, EMC Generators, and EMC testers, etc..
  • Perform optical and electrical performance test of lighting products according to the requirement of a NVLAP accredited laboratory.
  • Work with sales team to understand customer application testing requirements.
  • Help build a product testing strategy and roadmap.
  • Prepare test plans, test execution, test reporting and defect analysis.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Engineering, Quality, or other related field. 
  • More than 5 years of progressively responsible experience for test and calibration.
  • Profound knowledge of and experience in ISO9001 quality management system.
  • Excellent knowledge in NIST traceability, national and international lighting measurement standards.
  • Thorough understanding of measurement accuracy, precision, systematic bias, and uncertainty.
  • Experience in working with lighting measurement equipments. 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.  Good interpersonal and team-oriented skills.
  • Test and Calibration Technicians

    Job Functions:

  • Report to Senior Quality Manager of the company.
  • With minimum supervision of engineers, perform certifying and calibrating optical and electrical test and measurement instrument product such as Spectroradiometers, Goniophotometers, Illuminance Meters, Photometers, Digital Power Meters, Power Supplies, EMC Generators, and EMC testers, etc..
  • Conduct optical and electrical performance test of lighting products according to the requirement of NVLAP accredited laboratory.
  • Help prepare test plans, test execution, test reporting and defect analysis.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or other related field. 
  • More than 2 years of experience for test and calibration.
  • Basic knowledge of and experience in ISO9001 quality management system.
  • Knowledge in national and international lighting measurement standards.

    Job Functions:

  • Support R&D manager with new design concepts, optical testing, report generation, etc.
  • Responsible for design, development and improving optical and electrical test and measurement instrument product such as Spectroradiometers, Goniophotometers, Illuminance Meters, Photometers, Digital Power Meters, Power Supplies, EMC Generators, and EMC testers, etc..
  • Perform research, modeling and verification experiments to enable development of new technologies.
  • Interface with manufacturing engineers and customers to define and develop new products.
  • Generate reports of product design, development and pilot run and help manufacturing engineers create production procedures and process control documents.
  • Interface with strategic IP staff when necessary for patent applications.
  • Co-operate with application engineers/scientists and engineers from technical and quality department to design customized products.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. Degree in Optics, EE or ME
  • At least 3 years’ research experience in optical or electrical metrology instruments. Proven track record of invention, excellent problem solving skills, the ability to work on multiple projects.
  • Programming experience with software such as Java or MATLAB.
  • Excellent knowledge of 3D Solid Modeling software and optical modeling software.
  • Profound knowledge in national and international lighting measurement standards.
  • Thorough understanding of NIST traceability, accuracy, precision, systematic bias, and the evaluation of measurement uncertainty.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.  Good interpersonal and team-oriented skills are required.
